As a person with a very international upbringing, I am thrilled to be teaching at Surat Thani International School. I was born in the UK, raised in Phuket, Thailand, before moving to the United States where I completed my bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, focusing on creative writing and education. For the first few years of my career I was in the field of Higher Education Administration before moving to Beijing, China where I taught English to children aged 2 to 14. I returned to the United States for masters degree courses in Public Administration and International Education Management, deciding upon completion to pivot back to teaching Kindergarten. Though this time, I was determined to move back to the country of my upbringing: Thailand. As a kindergarten teacher at STIS, I am dedicated to raising the next generation of youth to be confident, courageous, and creative so that they are able to tackle what may come their way in the future.

Michael
I have been working as a teacher and musical educator for the best part of fifteen years. After graduating with a BA in Music and Music Production from Leeds College of Music, I worked as a private piano tutor and ran my own business before going into schools as a music workshop leader. This led to me taking a Postgraduate Certificate in Education where I could specialise in using music and singing to aid learning in the wider curriculum. The course afforded me extensive experience working with school students of all ages which I was able to bring to Thailand when I began teaching here in 2015. I love Thailand and Thai culture and plan to stay here long term. In my spare time I like to travel around exploring this wonderful country. I also keep my professional ties to my home country by occasionally writing music commissions for UK theatre and advertising.

My name is Dominuque Fourie but my students and friends call me Bunny. I have been teaching at high schools and primary schools through my life and there is no real difference when it comes to being a teacher to these kids. I think it's important to get to know your kids and give them the right tools in life to make a difference in theirs and ours. I studied Early Childhood Development at the University of South Africa. Teaching is not always easy but it certainly is fun for me!

My duties involve organizing learning activities tailored to students with special needs, learning capacities and Intellectual Disabilities. My broad experience as an Academic Support teacher have ultimately shape my own personal philosophies for teaching and education, it also taught me the value of patience and encouragement. As an educator I believe that every child is special, unique and has the ability to learn in distinct ways. I also love learning new things and can easily adapt in different work settings.
